Conceived by Garcé & Dimofski, the exhibition entitled "Mensagem" took place in the historic Portuguese Graça Convent in Lisbon on September, 2021. This installation from the design duo derives its name from one of the major works of Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa. Through “Mensagem”, Pessoa reflects on the illustrious history of Portugal and its icons - an ode to Garcé’s return to his Portuguese roots.

With this first formal exhibition Garcé & Dimofski, the duo wishes to transcribe a balance between craft and the force of creative collaboration.

By associating multiple creators / artists / designers with a common narrative, the duo strives to share a story in which the objects become "messengers".

Just as Fernando Pessoa evolved a body of work throughout his lifetime - taking each poem, modifying, and redistributing them like architectural elements of a temple, Garcé & Dimofski install the objects of the exhibition as theatrical / scenographic components, each a reflection of the artists’ dialogue with Portuguese heritage.

These singular and sculptural objects come to mix with several vintage objects of the gallery Garcé & Dimofski which make it possible to create a link between eras, as G&D do in their interior projects.

Furniture pieces featured in the exhibition included two chairs by Minjae Kim, sculptural lamps and vases by Garance Vallée, coffee tables by Ian Felton and a side table and a sofa designed by Garcé & Dimofski.
